: CYO Hockey for Next Season
Dear
CYO Members,
The
CYO would like to thank you for participating in our hockey program
this season. We hope that you and your child have had a very enjoyable
hockey season.
We
are proud to announce that the CYO has officially received sanctioning
from a national hockey organization called the CHPA (Canadian Hockey
Parents Association). As you can tell by the name, this association
has your best interests at heart. The CHPA will be providing our league
with full insurance and many of the same benefits as the Alliance and
OMHA. One of the key differences is that the CHPA has no residency rule.
This allows friends from different towns, cities and even neighborhoods
to play together on the same house league or rep team.
Please
see the attached Fall Hockey Registration 2007-2008 flyer showing the
times, dates and locations of our spring registration throughout Durham
Region. This flyer will be posted in most of the local newspapers over
the next few weeks.
You
will be pleased to know that we have reduced the cost of many of our
programs. In fact, for every new player you refer and sign up, we will
reduce your registration by a further $50 (no limit restrictions). Simply
have the new players insert your name and number on the bottom of their
registration forms and we will do the rest.
This
year we are giving parents two options for registration:
Online
at www.cyohockey.com/registration.
Filling out an application at your local arena per attached flyer dates,
times & locations.
The
attached flyer lists the many reasons why our program next season will
be one of the best in the country.
Also
attached are CYO Survey and Coach Evaluation forms that we would encourage
you to fill out and mail in. These help us in the development of our
programs and in the coaching selection process for next season.
Please
note that rep and select try-outs will be from May 6th – 17th.
We will be posting the try-out dates, times and locations on our website
and in local newspapers throughout the Durham Region in April.
