All new applicants will be interviewed by the Coaching Selection Committee; existing coaches will only be interviewed at the discretion of the committee.

Coaching applications are to be submitted by April 9th (for the CC teams) and by April 30th (for Tier 1/House league teams)

2010/2011 SEASON PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

New This Year! CC Program

The OMHA Board of Directors is responsible for the Categorization of Centers and their respective teams. Categorization is based on the registration base of the Center and their ability to enter competitive teams in each of the divisions within that Category. Categorization ensures that there is fair competition in all Centers regardless of registration base.

CYO is proud to announce that we have been assigned a Representative “CC” Category for the 2010/11 season based on our current registration cap of 385. This Category sits slightly below the Representative “A“ Category and above the “AE” Category. CYO will be entering teams in the Victoria Durham League in the Minor Midget (94/95), Bantam (96/97) and Peewee (98/99) Divisions for the 2010/11 season. The Victoria Durham League consists of the following Centers; Mariposa, Woodville, Orono Omemee, Manvers, Newcastle, Fenelon Falls, Beaverton, Sunderland.

Initiation Program

Watch your little one develop into a hockey player through the CYO initiation program.
Program has consistently grown over the last 8 years under the guidance of knowledgeable and enthusiastic coaching staff. This kid focused program continues to receive incredible support and increased enrolment year after year. The philosophy of the program is toMake Hockey Fun – Through Teaching Confidence and skills”.

Competitive Tier 1 Level Hockey

Experience the benefits of our unique program. This program is designed for hockey players who want the training and development offered by committed coaches and trainers in the Durham Region.

Enjoy high level competitive full contact hockey with tournament travel.

New this year Tier 1 teams may have an opportunity of playing local loop hockey outside the CYO

House League

The program typically consists of 1 game and 1 practice each week. Sessions complete with referees and timekeeper to truly teach those players the “game”. The goal of the program is to continue building confidence skills, and introduces positioning and rules of the game (off-sides, icing, face-offs, etc.)

Development clinics available throughout the year for those interested.

Season runs early October to end of March.
